Air Technical Industries has developed a tire-wheel gripper-lifter-positioner that can lift tires with diameters up to 48" and weights of 500 pounds in horizontal position to stack on top of each other. It can also pitch 90° to a vertical position for installation.

The gripping action is cam-activated — the heavier the load, the stronger the gripping action. Release can be pneumatic, hydraulic, or manually operated, depending on needs. The gripper can be used with an overhead crane, jib crane, Articularm manipulator, or mobile hydraulic floor crane.
