Tree Top Inc has honored three trucking firms as part of the company's Core Carrier of the Year recognition program. E A Trucking of Irwindale CA was chosen Truckload Carrier of the Year; Oak Harbor of Yakima WA was chosen LTL Carrier of the Year; and Beverage Distributors, also of Yakima, was chosen Tank Carrier of the Year.

Tree Top's Core Carrier Program includes 18 trucking companies. Each one's performance was measured by Tree Top staff members who work with them daily. Although there are 12 specific measurement areas, emphasis is placed on "level of service." The Core Carrier Program was established in 1999 by Tree Top in recognition of its transportation requirements.

Selah WA-based Tree Top is a grower-owned fruit processing cooperative with seven plant facilities in Washington, Oregon, and California.

Prime Rewards Operators For Lease Completion Prime Inc, a refrigerated, flatbed, and liquid bulk truckload carrier headquartered in Springfield MO, has rewarded lease completion incentives to operators who completed leases with the company in June 2000.

John Kostal of Washougal WA received a check for $14,593.19 upon completion of a 132-week lease. Kostal is a team driver with his wife Lauraine. Kostal has been with Prime for three years and is a multiple Prime Time Certified (PTC) winner for continuous on-time performance.

Eric Vaughn of Auburn KS completed a 129-week lease for a cash incentive of $6,920.54. He joined Prime five years ago and has received several PTC awards.

Duane Smock of Springfield received a check for $6,483.66 upon completion of a 148-week lease. He has been with Prime for more than six years and is a multiple PTC winner. Smock is a Gold Million Miler for having driven more than one million miles while at Prime with no preventable accidents.

Patrick LeMay of Enfield CT completed a 153-week lease for a cash incentive of $16,839.25. He joined Prime in September 1995 and has received several PTC awards.

Dwain Coble of Sparta MO received a check for $12,566.19 upon completion of a 94-week lease. He has been with Prime for nearly two years and is a multiple PTC winner.

Douglas Kline of San Antonio TX completed a 155-week lease for a cash incentive of $22,356.96. Kline is a team driver with his wife Teresa. Upon completing his second lease in June, Kline is now working on a third. He joined Prime in March 1993 and has received several PTC awards.

Matson Adds Eighth Ship To Hawaii Fleet Effective October 29, Matson Navigation Co has added an eighth vessel to its Hawaii Service fleet.

With the new schedule, Matson's service will feature four arrivals from the West Coast every week. From Northern California, the schedule provides twice-weekly service, with direct sailings every Tuesday and Friday afternoon from Oakland to Honolulu. From Southern California, Matson will offer twice-weekly service, with direct sailings from Los Angeles to Honolulu every Wednesday afternoon and Saturday morning. The Pacific Northwest service will continue to offer a weekly Sunday departure.
