    Grocery wholesaler Fresh Brands Inc has released results for its fiscal second quarter ended July 16, 2005.

    Net sales for the second quarter of 2005 increased to $164,227,000 compared with $163,157,000 for the second quarter of 2004. Net income was $195,000 for the second quarter of 2005, versus a net loss of $2,168,000 for the second quarter of 2004.

    For the first two quarters of 2005, net sales totaled $361,885,000 compared with $359,543,000 for the same period in 2004. Net income was $406,000 for the first two quarters of 2005 in contrast to a net loss of $3,862,000 for the first two quarters of 2004.
