East Penn Manufacturing Co Inc, a manufacturer of lead-acid batteries and battery accessories, has been named a Certified Supplier by Caterpillar, marking the 14th consecutive year East Penn has received this honor.

Out of Caterpillar's several thousand suppliers worldwide, about 1,200 achieve certification status each year. East Penn began supplying Caterpillar batteries in 1982 and received its first certification five years later in 1987. In 1991, East Penn became the first company to receive Caterpillar's Quality Banner recognizing five consecutive annual quality certifications.
