Phoenix AZ-based truckload carrier Knight Transportation Inc, whose operations include the Knight Refrigerated subsidiary, announced its financial results for the quarter and nine months ended Sept 30, 2004.

Phoenix AZ-based truckload carrier Knight Transportation Inc, whose operations include the Knight Refrigerated subsidiary, announced its financial results for the quarter and nine months ended Sept 30, 2004.

For the quarter ended Sept 30, 2004, total revenue surged 30.1% to $114.1 million from $87.6 million for the same quarter of 2003. Revenue, before fuel surcharge, rose 25.7% to $106.1 million from $84.4 million for the quarter in 2003. Net income climbed 32.6% to $12.6 million from $9.5 million for the 2003 quarter.

Total revenue for the nine months ended Sept 30, 2004, increased 26.2% to $315.5 million from $250.0 million for the nine-month period of 2003. Revenue, before fuel surcharge, gained 23.6% to $296.5 million from $239.8 million for the comparable period of 2003. Net income advanced 30.6% to $33.3 million from $25.5 million for the 2003 period.
