    Mondovi WI-based refrigerated truckload carrier Marten Transport Ltd reported its financial results for the quarter and six months ended June 30, 2004.

    For the quarter ended June 30, 2004, operating revenue increased 9.1% to $91.9 million from $84.2 million for the same quarter of 2003. For the six months ended June 30, 2004, operating revenue climbed 7.9% to $176.4 million from $163.5 million for the same period of 2003.

    Net income for the quarter ended June 30, 2004, surged 36.1% to $4.8 million from $3.5 million for the same quarter of 2003. For the six months ended June 30, 2004, net income shot up 52.9% to $7.5 million from $4.9 million for the comparable period a year ago.
