ChevronTexaco Global Lubricants has announced reformulation of its Texaco Ursa Super Plus SAE 15W-40 motor oil to meet the Mack EO-N Premium Plus specification. The oil was already approved to meet the standards of the API CI-4 specification.

Available since Oct 1, 2002, Ursa Super Plus SAE 15W-40 was launched to coincide with new exhaust gas recirculation (EGR)-equipped engines offered under the Environmental Protection Agency's new emissions requirements.

Ursa Super Plus oil performs well in both new and older engines, using normal or low-sulfur diesel fuels. It is produced using selected high-viscosity-index base oils and additives that protect against sludge, varnish, ash deposits, wear, oxidation, foam, corrosion, and rust. The oil reduces deposit buildup from high-temperature engine operation, especially in the piston and ring area; combats varnish formation; and keeps engine parts clean.
