International Truck and Engine Corp unveiled its new American Eagle 9900ix — a Class 8 truck that honors the spirit of America and the thousands of truck drivers nationwide — during the 2004 Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville KY.

This limited-edition package was designed with owner-operators in mind, but International also intends to market the vehicle to fleet owners seeking to reward their top performers.

The truck features a graphic design of an American eagle along the cab and a hood ornament on its long-nose hood that depicts a silver American eagle soaring over the International badge. Western saddle tan seats include the embroidered American Eagle scripted logo on the headrest cover and complement the blue suede inserts on seats, doors, sleeper area doors, and the sleeper back wall.

Other key features of the American Eagle 9900ix include:

  • A sleek, aerodynamic hood that maintains the classic style combined with a fully curved wraparound windshield with enlarged windows.

  • Standard wide-track front axles for improved wheel-cut, a tighter turning radius, and better maneuverability.

  • Superior cab room with an extended sleeper cab.

  • Cab aesthetics that have a visually appealing dashboard and a higher steering wheel placement.

  • International Ride Optimization Suspension for improved vehicle ride and handling, as well as increased driver comfort and control.

  • Flow-through aerodynamic sunshade to keep airflow unrestricted.
