Discharge Alarm Can Extend Lift Truck Battery Life

GNB Industrial Power has developed a new Battery Discharge Alarm (BDA) designed to increase lift truck battery life by preventing battery overdischarge. This device is now a standard component on all Champion sealed batteries (except PalletPro models) manufactured in North America. It is designed for use on 12-, 24-, 36-, and 48-volt Champion batteries. The BDA is also available for use with Champion batteries now in service and can be installed in a 15-minute operation.

This alarm is a non-adjustable, factory-calibrated, 5.1-ounce, electronic module mounted inside the battery tray. It senses battery voltage, and when the battery nears 80% discharge, an intermittent 80-decibel alarm will begin to sound. Once a full 80% discharge is reached, the alarm will sound continuously until the battery is plugged into an approved battery charger.
