Maxon Lift Corp's new cantilever-style GPC X1 series liftgate is an extruded aluminum platform that is easy to install and requires little maintenance. According to Brent Stratton, vice-president of sales and marketing, “The GPC X1 is based on the same technology that has been so successful in our GPS slider series. X1 technology simplifies the entire lifting mechanism of the liftgate, which permits the elimination of two cylinders on higher-capacity models.”

The GPC X1 comes equipped with a service switch mounted in the power unit, where the service mechanic can directly pilot and test all lift functions. If necessary, the liftgate can be operated using this device. The GPC X1 also comes fully assembled, simplifying installation. Other features include a sealed control box with marine-style electrical switches, grease-free bearings, a standard waterproof hand-held remote control, dual cart stops, a cab power cutoff switch, and a flat platform surface suitable for decals.

This liftgate comes in three standard capacities — 2,200, 3,300, and 4,400 pounds — and six platform configurations. For 96"-wide truck bodies, platforms are available in 55" × 92", 71" × 92", and 85" × 92". For 102"-wide truck bodies, the same depths are provided, but the platform width is 98" instead of 92".
