International Truck and Engine Corp's 4400 4×2 Mid Cab tractor is engineered for urban and regional applications where a vehicle's mission requires more than 10% bobtailing.

Lighter, stronger frames backed by a seven-year limited warranty support bigger payloads. International I6 diesel engines are provided, as well as an optional upgrade to DT466 engines with ratings up to 250 horsepower or DT530 engines with ratings up to 300 hp.

Cab air shield offerings and the Aerodynamic Package with cab side extenders are optional, and rear taillight packages with LED bulbs for stop/turn/taillights are available.

Standard equipment includes a ride-enhancing cab air suspension system and auto traction control. The bumper-to-back-of-cab dimension is 107" with a 66.8" cab height (top of frame to top of cab) — 4" higher than the International 4400 4×2 model. An optional aerodynamic exterior sunshade is equipped with clearance/marker lights.

A bright-finish tailpipe and muffler guard with 10"-diameter muffler vertical exhaust system is provided, and various trailer hose and cable options are offered. Lang-Mekra rectangular mirrors are standard with breakaway-type brackets. Standard wheels are 22.5" steel disc and hub-piloted. DT466 engines with 215-hp and 620-ft-lb torque ratings are standard.
