Two of Castrol's diesel engine oils — Hypuron S and Tection Extra — have met requirements of Mack EO-N Premium Plus '03 specification. The new Mack specification was developed to ensure optimum life and performance of Mack ASET AC and AI 2002/2003 EGR diesel engines. Oils that meet this specification will also enhance the performance of all Mack non-EGR diesel engines.

Mack EO-N Premium Plus '03 requires diesel engine oils to perform at a higher standard with regards to handling higher levels of soot, resisting shearing, improving seal compatibility and meeting a new minimum total base number.

Introduced in February 2002, Hypuron S (formerly known as Enduron S) and Tection Extra also exceed current specifications for API CI-4, CH-4, CG-4, CF-4, SL, Cummins CES 20078 and 20076, and Caterpillar ECF-1.
