Cummins Inc has formed the Fleetguard Emission Solutions unit to treat byproducts from engine combustion and help customers meet tightening emissions regulations.

Technology offered through this business will enable reciprocating engines to meet or exceed future United States Environmental Protection Agency and international emissions requirements cost-effectively. The business will research, develop, and commercialize systems and products for use in mobile and stationary applications.

This business will focus on retrofitting existing engines with emissions control devices and development of emissions system solutions for Cummins and other original equipment manufacturers for future emission requirements. Mike Cross will lead the new venture as vice-president-Fleetguard Emission Solutions. He has experience in finance, logistics management, and sales and marketing during his 17-year career at Cummins.
