Sysco Corp's FreshPoint produce subsidiary has agreed to acquire Piranha Produce Inc and has also completed the acquisition of Nashville Tomato Inc. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Modesto CA, Piranha Produce is a full-line fresh fruit and vegetable foodservice distributor and supplies foodservice customers throughout northern and central California. Jeff Sacchini and Glenn Davis will remain president and executive vice-president, respectively, of the operation.

Nashville Tomato, headquartered in Nashville TN, is a regional tomato packager and distributor to foodservice operations throughout Tennessee, Missouri, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama. Gus Grote and Eddie DeMoss will stay on as president and executive vice-president, respectively, of the operation.

FreshPoint, based in Houston TX, is the largest specialty produce distributor in North America and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sysco.
