IN 2000, a year that challenged the trucking industry and its suppliers, Carrier Transicold dealers distinguished themselves and helped the company produce gains in market share, according to Mark Cywilko. He is senior vice-president of North American transport refrigeration and air-conditioning. Cywilko spoke at the company's truck/trailer dealer meeting held March 4 to 6, 2001, in Panama City, Florida.

During the meeting, the company outlined its “The Complete Package” theme for the coming year. This is a program of new product introductions and dealer and customer support initiatives. The title of the program characterizes Carrier's comprehensive approach to the marketplace, said Guy Colglazier, vice-president of sales and marketing for Truck/Trailer North America.

In addition to outlining Carrier Transicold's plans for 2001, dealer awards for 2000 were presented during the meeting. Kile Truck Refrigeration of Nashville, Tennessee, was named Dealer of the Year as well as southern region pacesetter. The pacesetter program is a continuous improvement process that focuses on business development. Charles Moore, operations manager at Kile Truck Refrigeration, has been with Carrier Transicold for 31 years. “I never expected a mid-sized dealership like us to receive such an honor,” he said.

New Dealer of the Year award and central region Pacesetter recognition went to DeCleene Truck Refrigeration of McFarland, Wisconsin. Two other regional pacesetters received multiple awards as well. Eastern region pacesetter, Reefer Sales & Service (Toronto) Inc of Mississauga, Ontario, also earned the Highest Truck Volume award and the Four-Star Quota Buster award for sales increases in four areas: truck, trailer, parts, and total volume. Western Region pacesetter, Coast Transit Refrigeration of Sacramento, California, also received awards for top parts sales improvement percentage and the most improved sales volume percentage.

Three-star quota buster awards went to Kile Truck Refrigeration and Coast Transit Refrigeration along with four other dealers. In addition, 11 dealers won Brick and Mortar awards for investment in facilities.
