Paula Sneed, president of Kraft Foods' newly formed E-Commerce Division, will kick off the International Association of Food Industry Suppliers (IAFIS) inaugural Food eBiz conference with a session titled "E-Service: What It Takes to Exceed Customer Expectations in an E-Business Environment." Food eBiz, a new e-business conference from IAFIS, will be held Oct 8-10, 2000, at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington DC.

Sneed is a member of Kraft's Operating Committee, the company's policy decision-making group. She joined General Foods Corp, which later merged with Kraft Foods, in 1977. Before creation of the E-Commerce Division in September 1999, Sneed was Kraft's chief marketing officer.

Also on the program will be a senior executive from Transora.com, a new global business-to-business e-marketplace formed by 49 food, beverage, and consumer products companies. The session, "Operations Soup: The ABCs of ERP, MRO and SCM in an E-Business Environment," will feature a case study that examines how leading processors are joining forces to reinvent operations in enterprise resource planning (ERP), maintenance, repair and operations (MRO), and supply chain management (SCM).

"Knowledge Is King In The E-World" will feature an e-business leader in management of best practices in communications, training, and product applications and configurations.

"Cycle Time in the E-World: From Runaround to Turnaround" will examine best practices pertaining to full commercialization of the cycle-time process that will allow companies to transport cycle time (for new and/or extended product development) from concept to reality.

Food eBiz also will feature an exhibit area with up to 50 exhibits displaying products and services. To register, access www.iafis.org, phone 703-761-2600, or e-mail [email protected].
