IARW, WFLO elect new officers, board members
New officers and board members of the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW) and the World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO), an education and research foundation affiliated with IARW, were elected at the 2012 IARW-WFLO Annual Convention & Expo.
David M Harlan (president and chief executive officer, United States Cold Storage Inc in Voorhees NJ) was elected as the 2012-2013 chairman of the IARW board of directors.
Other new IARW officers elected for the coming year were Vice-Chairman Doug Thomas (president and CEO, Bellingham Cold Storage) and Treasurer Terry Brown (president, Diversified Port Holdings).
New directors-at-large members elected to serve three-year terms include José Carranza (Agroempaques) and Carey Falcone (Americold Logistics). In addition, Drew Greenberg (Newport-St Paul Cold Storage Co) was elected to represent the Heartland Chapter, and Judson Anderson (Loop Cold Storage) was elected to represent the Southwestern Chapter for three-year terms.
The European Cold Storage and Logistics Association (ECSLA) and the Refrigerated Warehouse &Transport Association of Australia (RWTA) also nominated members to serve. Hans Van Leeuwen (Frigolanda Cold Logistics) was nominated by ECSLA and elected to the board of directors to serve a three-year term. David O’Brien (Doboy Cold Stores), nominated by RWTA, was also elected to serve a three-year term.
Larry Rauch (president, Los Angeles Cold Storage Co, Los Angeles CA) was elected as the 2012-2013 chairman of WFLO board of governors.
Other new WFLO officers elected were Vice-Chairman Bill Hendricksen (CEO, Castle & Cook Cold Storage) and Treasurer Frank Plant (manager, San Diego Cold Storage).
New board members elected to serve three-year terms include Brian Beazer (Winchester Cold Storage) and Ravi Kannan (Snowman Logistics). Board members Nick Pedneault (Congebec Logistics), Greg Brandt (Nor-Am Cold Storage), and Fred Walker (Americold Logistics) were renominated to serve another three-year term.
In addition, Daryl Lund, PhD, from the University of Wisconsin was renominated as a public member and chairman of the WFLO Scientific Advisory Council.
