RedPrairie Corporation announced that its Warehouse Management system has gone live in Dot Foods’ Mt Sterling IL distribution center. The largest food redistributor in the United States, Dot will use the system at its highest-volume facility to help process more than 80,000 products for grocers and food retailers of all sizes.
“To maintain and sustain continued growth at Dot Foods, we needed a system that would perform at a high enough level of efficiency to provide the kind of service our customers demand without any disruption,” said John Long, Dot Foods vice-president of operations. “RedPrairie’s Warehouse Management solution is up to that task.”
Dot’s Mt Sterling distribution center handles more than 60% of the $4 billion company’s order volume and has cool, dry, and frozen storage facilities. The company is currently running Warehouse Management with its cooler operations, with plans to implement alongside dry and frozen operations within the next year. The system now is assisting the organization with pallet building, list picking, and more efficient travel and directed work operations.
With more than 20 global offices, RedPrairie has systems that are installed at more than 34,000 customer sites in more than 40 countries. It offers workforce, inventory, and transportation systems to deliver an increase in productivity, with the flexibility to adapt as business needs change.
