Teradata, an analytic data platforms, applications, and services company, announced that Sligro Food Group, a European food retail and foodservice wholesaler, has selected a Teradata data warehouse for predictive analytics.

Teradata (NYSE: TDC), an analytic data platforms, applications, and services company, announced that Sligro Food Group, a European food retail and foodservice wholesaler, has selected a Teradata data warehouse for predictive analytics.
The new powerhouse platform will help the food company achieve its new vision to better anticipate future client and market developments and further evolve from a supply-driven to a demand-driven operational model.
With this investment in a strategic business intelligence (BI) platform, Sligro will interpret data from its various divisions and activities and make qualitative management information available faster. The Teradata Data Warehouse appliance will allow Sligro to improve its supply of information, lift e-commerce services to a higher level, and streamline the supply chain by better mapping clients’ needs.
“The Teradata Data Warehouse brings the advantages of BI closer to our core activities. Teradata enables us to offer available data to users down to the lowest level and with good system performance,” said Pepijn van der Veen, team leader–software development at Sligro. “In Teradata, we have found a partner who can provide us with the necessary credentials locally and within our sector. Deployment of the system was very efficient and very swift. After four months, the system was already up and running for end users.”
