Louis Borders, founder and chief executive officer of Home Delivery Service, will conduct a keynote presentation unveiling a new food home delivery service Saturday, November 12 at the 36th IACSC Conference & Expo. This event is hosted by the International Association for Cold Storage Construction (IACSC), a Core Partner of the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA).
Borders is founder and CEO of HDS Global, an online mall/ecommerce service consumers can use to shop for groceries and general merchandise from leading retailers. HDS has developed RoboFS, a software-defined fulfillment system that combines intelligent vision with mobile and articulated robots into an integrated, end-to-end solution. Borders was also a founder of Borders Books & Music, Synergy Software and Webvan.
“We are really interested to see how the home delivery service Borders created is impacting the design of warehouses and their supply chain,” said Corey Rosenbusch, president and CEO of GCCA. “This industry shift could change the way so many of our members do business.”
The IACSC Conference & Expo brings together key players from the temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics construction industry. Leaders from temperature-controlled contractor and design-build firms make up the bulk of attendees, in addition to those in charge of refrigeration systems, engineering and building design and retrofits for cold chain processing and manufacturing facilities, retailers, and warehousing and logistics companies.
This conference will feature four general sessions focused on key trends and innovations in cold facility design, construction and maintenance. A 41-tabletop expo hall will include exhibitors providing solutions, products and services to support the construction of temperature-controlled facilities including insulation, refrigeration systems, racking and material handling.
