The International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW), a core partner of the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA), has released its annual Global Top 25 List of the largest temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics providers in the world.

Accompanying the IARW Global Top 25 is the IARW North American Top 25 List and a list of the largest operators in Latin America as well as Europe, reflecting the strength of the cold chain in both regions. Lists are determined by total capacity of temperature-controlled space.

IARW members currently own or operate 4.98 billion cubic feet (141.1 million cubic meters). A total capacity of 56.7 million cubic feet was added to the Global Top 25, which was an increase of 3% on average per Top 25 company. Companies worldwide reported higher capacity and several new companies joined IARW in the past year.

•Latin America increased by 24.88 million cubic feet

•Europe Top 10 increased by 47.82 million cubic feet

•North America increased by 63.24 million cubic feet

•Global has increased by 63.24 million cubic feet

The Global Top 25 currently operates 3.87 billion cubic feet (109.46 million cubic meters). The North American Top 25 operates 2.83 billion cubic feet (80.15 million cubic meters). The European Top 10 operates 664.65 million cubic feet (18.82 million cubic meters). The Latin American Top 20 operates 304.41 million cubic feet (8.62 million cubic meters).

“As members align their strategic focus with protecting and enhancing their customers’ brands, their business has grown,” said Corey Rosenbusch, GCCA president and CEO. “This has resulted in increased capacity as members expand and build new facilities to address their customers’ immediate and future distribution needs, while also offering new and improved value-added services.”

GCCA membership includes 1,214 temperature-controlled facilities and members in more than 80 nations. Warehouse members offer a range of logistics solutions, including storage, transportation, processing, blast freezing and exports. A complete listing of all warehouse members can be found in the Global Cold Chain Directory, which is available for free online or as a mobile app.
