Hill wins GCCA’s Future Leader Award
Corrin Hill, Lineage Logistics’ transport manager in the United Kingdom, received the 2022 European Future Leader Award from the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) during the association’s 25th European Cold Chain Conference in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
This year’s conference attracted close to 200 cold chain professionals from Europe, the U.K., the United States, and Australia, GCCA said. The award was revealed by GCCA president and CEO Matthew R. Ott, who also talked about the association’s expanding global footprint, and addressed the industry’s growing need for an advocacy presence across regions.
“It is encouraging to see young, promising talent rise to the challenge of bettering the industry and exploring opportunities to leave a meaningful, long-term impact on the development of the global cold chain,” said Julie Hanson, GCCA’s director of Europe.
The GCCA Future Leader Award recognizes talented young professionals who have the potential to become cold chain leaders and make a positive contribution to the development of the global temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics industry.
“I am proud to be the recipient of the Europe Future Leader Award and thankful to have been given the opportunity to exhibit my ability to be a leader in this essential industry,” Hill said. “It was an honor to take part in this competition with other gifted young professionals.”
Finalists were judged and evaluated on their knowledge level of the industry, track record of excellence, communication skills, and leadership skills by a panel of industry leaders. In addition, each candidate delivered a short presentation during the conference. Hill competed for the award with Roope Suotunen, supply chain solutions manager for Americold Logistics in the Netherlands.
Hill will represent Europe and go on to compete against young leaders from different regions later in the year for the GCCA Global NextGen Award.
The 26th GCCA European Cold Chain Conference will be held in Barcelona, Spain in March 2023. More information and dates will be announced soon.
