Addition of 124,000 square feet at its Aurora, Colorado distribution center includes 33% more freezer space and 66% more refrigerated capacity.

KeHE Distributors recently celebrated the expansion of its Aurora, Colorado distribution center.

The expansion of distribution center No. 12 provides an additional 124,000 square feet of storage across all temperature zones, including 33% more freezer space, 66% more refrigerated capacity, and 43% more dry storage, the Illinois-headquartered company said.

“Colorado, as we all know, has always been a hub for innovation for products in the natural and organic space,” KeHe CEO Brandon Barnholt said during the celebration. “KeHe is committed to having a significant impact and presence throughout the Rocky Mountain region, and this is one great example of how we’re doing that.”

Amy Kirtland, KeHe’s executive vice president of growth and innovation, and Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman also attended the commemorative event, which included a ribbon cutting, warehouse tours, and lunch. The expansion also will bring new employment opportunities and economic growth to the Aurora and Boulder areas, the company said.

“We want to be a partner with you in making sure that you are successful,” Coffman told gathered leaders and KeHE partners.

“Thanks so much, and thanks for believing in the City of Aurora.”
