SeaCube provided five branded portable refrigerated containers to support food and beverage operations during the Sail4th 250 celebration in New York Harbor.
The company, which provides portable refrigerated storage and cold chain transportation solutions, supplied refrigerated containers for five viewing locations across New York and New Jersey from July 3-8. The equipment helped keep food and beverages at safe temperatures during the multi-day event, which drew large crowds to the waterfront.
In addition to supplying refrigerated storage, SeaCube coordinated specialized refrigerated transportation for the event. The logistics plan included barge deliveries to Governors Island to position equipment where it was needed throughout the celebration.
“SeaCube is incredibly proud to be part of such an important milestone in our nation’s history,” said Bob Sappio, CEO of SeaCube. “Supporting Sail4th 250 not only enables us to showcase our equipment and logistics capabilities, but also the critical role portable cold storage plays in large-scale events where food safety, reliability, and operational flexibility are essential.”
What this means for the trucking industry
Portable refrigerated equipment continues to expand beyond traditional freight transportation into temporary cold chain applications. For refrigerated carriers, logistics providers, and fleet operators, the announcement highlights the growing demand for flexible cold storage and transportation services to support events, emergency operations, and other locations where permanent refrigerated infrastructure is unavailable. It also demonstrates how coordinated transportation and portable refrigeration can extend the cold chain while maintaining product quality and food safety.
