Q1 Labs, a global provider of security information and event management (SIEM) products, announced that Gordon Food Service is using the company’s QRadar family of network security management products to comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and to help secure mission-critical elements of its distributed network.

An international company with more than 45,000 customers in the United States and Canada, Grand Rapids MI-based Gordon Food Service has deployed QRadar to provide it with the essential information and visibility it needs to show that it is properly monitoring and responding to various network-based fraud, threats, and events.

By installing QRadar with its uniquely integrated log management, security event management, and deep analytic capabilities, the staff at Gordon Food Service can now scrutinize network behavior and manage infrastructure logs. It can collect events from firewalls, VPN concentrators, and access control devices to quickly assess their relative importance to the company’s overall security.

QRadar also has helped Gordon Food Service improve its ability to monitor and respond to security events and threats. Since deploying QRadar in its corporate infrastructure, Gordon Food Service has been able to identify and eradicate a variety of network threats, including malware and viruses, along with network misconfigurations.
