Rail Logistics-Cold Train and Interstate Distributor Co have announced a new partnership in which Cold Train will use a dedicated fleet of trucks from Interstate Distributor Co for short-haul drayage service to and from the Port of Quincy Intermodal Terminal in Washington state.

In early 2010, Rail Logistics launched the “Cold Train” Pacific Northwest-Chicagoland Express Refrigerated Intermodal Service in partnership with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway and the Port of Quincy. Since the Rail Logistics’ Cold Train refrigerated expedited intermodal freight service was launched, it has grown in popularity with shippers in Washington state and the Midwest, and several thousand containers of fresh produce, frozen products, and/or other cargo have been shipped via Cold Train.

According to Rail Logistics-Cold Train President Steve Lawson, “This new partnership with Interstate Distributor Co will provide Cold Train with scalable drayage capacity in Washington state to meet increasing shipment demands as the service continues to grow.”

“Interstate is very excited to provide dedicated local/regional trucking services for Cold Train in the Pacific Northwest,” said Drew Miller, vice-president–dedicated services, Interstate Distributor Co. “This dedicated fleet is a natural extension of our multi-modal capabilities into the arena of intermodal drayage. Our on-site project manager and drivers at the Port of Quincy will represent Cold Train with the utmost professionalism and provide world-class service.”

Rail Logistics has corporate offices in Overland Park KS and regional operations offices in Chicago IL and Quincy WA. Access www.rrlx.com for more information.

Headquartered in Tacoma WA, Interstate Distributor Co provides services to local, regional, and transcontinental trucking, specialized, and refrigerated dedicated fleets; as well as expedited intermodal services. Visit www.intd.com for complete information.
