Luby’s Culinary Services, a segment of Luby’s Inc, has announced a multi-year agreement with Lone Star College System. Luby’s Culinary Services will manage the foodservice operations for the system’s newest location, LSC-University Park, serving more than 3,500 students and faculty.

Luby’s etc, the brand’s retail dining food court, opened recently to the college and the public. The recently renovated, 4,500-square-foot dining facility has a contemporary atmosphere that speaks to the student population. Luby’s Culinary Services will also provide catering for the 14,000-sq-ft Conference Center. With 19 conference rooms and exhibition space, the Conference Center is capable of hosting everything from business conferences to events such as weddings.

“Lone Star College System has revolutionized the community college experience, and we are honored to be an integral component in their mission to provide a full and rewarding educational setting for their students, faculty and the community,” said Chris Pappas, president and chief executive officer of Luby’s.

With nearly 60,000 students in credit courses in fall 2009, Lone Star College System is the third-largest community college system in Texas, and the largest higher education institution in the Houston area. The system has five colleges, six satellite centers, two university centers, Lone Star Corporate College and LSC-Online.

Luby’s Culinary Services provides foodservice operations at healthcare, business and industry, and higher education facilities.
