Tops Markets chooses Prescient SBT

Tops Markets LLC, a 76-store grocery chain headquartered in Buffalo NY, has signed on as the latest grocery retailer to find value in Prescient's Scan Based Trading (SBT) system. SBT is a commerce model where the supplier maintains ownership of its products until they scan at the point of sale.

Prescient will assist Tops with the management of its SBT program, including strategic planning, on-boarding of suppliers, and support for Tops and its suppliers. Tops will be able to effectively and quickly scale its supplier community through Prescient's flexible on-boarding options, regardless of supplier size or technical capabilities, and provide a solid foundation for future expansion.

By employing SBT, Tops will also have shared visibility with its suppliers of store/item level shrink, perpetual inventory, and accurate daily POS data.
