When a Market Day truck arrives at one of the schools and organizations that benefit from its value-priced food fundraising program, volunteers know it's time for their monthly “Market Day.”

It's a tradition that began more than 30 years ago when the company was first founded, based on the idea of benefiting communities across the nation — a business philosophy that continues today through the sale of more than 160 foods. Products are ordered by families online at marketday.com and delivered to participating organizations once a month. A portion of every sale is returned to the organization as a fund-raiser.

To highlight the Market Day brand, the firm's truck graphics are a reflection of its focus on quality and helping families. Graphics were designed in-house and feature lifestyle and food-oriented photography. A mom and kids are depicted enjoying some of the hundreds of food products offered to schools and organizations to raise money.

Once converted to four-color decals, they were affixed to 18- and 24-foot trucks in Market Day's fleet. Decals were made and installed by Rolling Meadows IL-based Modagraphics. The truck design and graphics won the 2008 Commercial Fleet Graphics Award-Single Unit Top 5.

“Our truck graphics positively represent Market Day's brand image and support our dedication to improving the lives of families in the organizations we serve across the country,” said Margie Roman, director of marketing for Market Day.

“We really understand the power of our new truck graphics to effectively serve as mobile billboards for our brand. They not only reinforce our brand image to people who are familiar with Market Day, but also create interest among potential new customers,” Roman said.

One organization that has benefited from Market Day's fund-raising program is Newark OH's Licking Valley Elementary School. Market Day chairperson Jennifer Hayes and other participating families are excited about Market Day's monthly delivery, as money raised from food sales this year are going to help bring Columbus' Center of Science and Industry (COSI) mobile science center to the school to enhance science education.

“The Market Day brand exemplifies our fundraising mission of giving back to others and heritage of providing high quality food products at a value,” Roman said.

In addition to its flagship monthly food program, Market Day offers a variety of other fund-raising options including a gift brochure, restaurant-quality desserts and cookie dough, beverages, and a gourmet food catalog. Since its inception more than 30 years ago, Market Day has raised more than $450 million for children and communities.
