C R England reorganizes leadership
Dan England, chairman of temperature-controlled carrier C R England, has announced a reorganization and new titles for members of the senior leadership team. The reorganization comes as a result of the April 9, 2013, death of former chief executive officer Wayne Cederholm.
Dean England, formerly company president, will now hold the title of co-chairman. Chad England, formerly chief operating officer, will assume the title and responsibility of CEO. Josh England, chief financial officer, will take on the added title and duties of president.
“While Wayne Cederholm’s passing was certainly unexpected, the company has always had in place a strong plan for leadership continuity,” said Dan England.
Dean England, true to family tradition, has worked at every level of the company. At an early age he traveled with his father Gene England on cross-country long-hauls. He has worked for the company as a freight handler, truck washer, maintenance manager, terminal manager, operations manager, director of operations, COO, CEO, and president. Dean England graduated from the University of Utah in 1978 with a degree in finance. He has also served on industry and community boards including the board of directors of the Utah Motor Transport Association and the Truckload Carrier Association (Refrigerated Division).
Chad England has been involved in the family business since age 14, working in nearly every department. He has held positions including driver manager; director of operations management; vice-president of opportunity leasing; vice-president of recruiting, training, and safe driving; president of England North America; and COO. He dedicates time to the American Trucking Associations, Truckload Carriers Association, and the American Transportation Research Institute. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Utah Trucking Association.
Josh England was named C R England’s CFO in January 2013. Previously, he was the president of England Logistics, a wholly owned subsidiary of C R England. He has an extensive background in the transportation industry, having served as vice-president of the Independent Contractor Division, controller of the North American Division, and manager of freight profitability for C R England. He is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Utah with a degree in business management and received his MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
