The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) recently gave C R England Inc, a Salt Lake City UT-based transportation provider, a “Satisfactory” rating—the highest rating possible—in a recent compliance review.

FMCSA thoroughly reviews compliance based on seven areas including accident records, equipment and maintenance records, driver qualifications, and drug and alcohol testing.

“We are pleased our drivers are among the safest in the industry and applaud the efforts of drivers and staff in helping us attain a satisfactory FMCSA rating,” said Wayne Cederholm, chief executive officer of C R England. “Our accident rating is among the best in the industry. This is critical to our company, our industry and our employees who are working each day to safely move products across our nation’s highways.”

The company has made aggressive steps to prevent violations and improve driver performance through effective training. It conducts weekly evaluations of its drivers to address and correct issues to reduce the amount of repeated safety violations. C R England also sends Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) program-specific messages to drivers with safety tips and information on improvement areas as well as using technologies to ensure safer conditions. These technologies include monitoring and identifying high-risk driving behavior, addressing improper lane change, forward collision, and following-distance violations, in addition to installing EOBRs (electronic onboard recorders) on all its vehicles to avoid out-of-service violations.

Founded in 1920, C R England is one of North America’s largest transportation companies and the world’s largest temperature-controlled carrier. Its services include national, Mexico, and regional truckload service in addition to dedicated and intermodal services. Other services include leasing, brokerage, LTL/parcel, supply chain engineering, special project engineering, warehousing, and global sourcing, which has offices in Southern California and China.
