A September 14 fire destroyed two Phoenix AZ warehouses that were being rented by Greatwide Logistics Services. Dallas TX-based Greatwide lost roughly 250,000 pallets and 36 truck trailers in the blaze, with damage unofficially estimated by the city's Fire Department to be in the millions of dollars.

Knight Transportation Inc, a trucking company whose headquarters was near the warehouses, was leasing one of the buildings to Greatwide. About 130 Knight employees were evacuated, and the headquarters was spared from fire damage. Greatwide was leasing the other warehouse from DF Properties, which is based in California.
