• Reinhart to acquire Harker’s distribution ops

    Reinhart FoodService, a unit of Reyes Holding LLC, has agreed to acquire the distribution branch of LeMars IA-based Harker’s Distribution Inc.

    Reinhart FoodService, a unit of Reyes Holding LLC, has agreed to acquire the distribution branch of LeMars IA-based Harker’s Distribution Inc.

    The acquisition, which includes Harker’s sales territories in 11 states, is set to close Nov 26, 2007. Harker’s will keep its meat processing operations in LeMars, along with its Lombardi Meats operations in Colorado and Minnesota.

    This marks Reinhart’s second acquisition in 2007 and sixth in the past two years. In June 2007, Reinhart acquired Harker’s sales territories in eastern Wisconsin and northeastern Illinois.

    LaCrosse WI-based Reinhart ranks fifth among distributorships with $2.6 billion in sales in 2006. Harker’s tallied $155 million in sales a year ago.
