Transplace has announced it will continue its relationship with Del Monte Foods through a full contract extension. With the new long-term agreement, Transplace will continue to provide Del Monte with strategic expertise in transportation management and logistics, as well as execution throughout the Del Monte network.

Del Monte Foods is a major producer, distributor, and marketer of food products for the US retail market. With products found in eight out of ten US households, the firm’s food product brands include Del Monte, Contadina, S&W, and College Inn.

Roger Sechler, director of transportation and supply chain management for Del Monte, said, “Del Monte appreciates its relationship with Transplace and is greatly looking forward to many more years of shared continued success.”

Since 2006, Transplace has worked collaboratively with Del Monte to help enable process improvements within the consumer packaged foods company’s organization through weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews to uncover new improvement opportunities, discuss ongoing initiatives and track progress to determine savings. Transplace’s dedicated account team is focused on driving collaboration opportunities during Del Monte’s peak volume seasons, emphasizing capacity planning and service execution, and implementing Lean Six Sigma initiatives.

“For more than five years, Transplace has focused on delivering value through enabling exceptional execution for Del Monte,” said Mark McEntire, vice-president of operations for Transplace. “By consistently leveraging data to make strategic business decisions, we’ve been able to contribute to business improvements and look forward to continued success for years to come.”
