EPA GreenChill honors Giant Eagle, Harris Teeter

Giant Eagle and Harris Teeter are the first winners of the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s GreenChill Advanced Refrigeration Partnership Environmental Achievement Award.

Giant Eagle and Harris Teeter are the first winners of the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s GreenChill Advanced Refrigeration Partnership Environmental Achievement Award. The award recognizes the two food retailers for emitting the lowest rates of ozone-depleting refrigerant in GreenChill’s first year.

The partnership is an EPA cooperative alliance with the supermarket industry and other stakeholders to promote advanced technologies, strategies, and practices that reduce refrigerant charges and emissions of ozone-depleting substances and greenhouse gases.

GreenChill now has 30 partners.
