Tesco deploys Secureseal to improve fleet security

United Kingdom-based international grocery and retail chain Tesco is improving security of goods in transit with Secureseal’s tamper-evident trailer seals. Secureseal will replace electronic seals for all new-build trailers and also replace faulty electronic seals in order to achieve optimum security sealing across Tesco’s 4,000-strong trailer fleet.

Secureseal is a permanent reusable seal with a unique random security number generator that monitors unauthorized door openings. These stainless steel devices are proven to provide long, trouble-free life typically exceeding eight years. Tesco requires a high level of reliability and cost per sealing of less than £15 per 1,000, and Secureseal is providing this.

Secureseal is part of the OEM Group. The trailer seal is the company’s mainstream product developed as part of a line of security and automated monitoring devices using automatic RFID and mobile communications technology.

Tesco is committed to its Green Policy and avoids wasteful disposable seals in favor of environmentally friendly reusable seals. With Secureseal, Tesco has resolved the common problem of metal and plastic disposable seals being used temporarily to replace their failing electronic seals.
