For more than three decades, the refrigerated freight transporter has operated from Salem IL, a town 70 miles east of St Louis MO, but continued growth and changes within the industry were motivating factors in opening another facility. Henderson Trucking’s Salem headquarters will remain open, but the new operating center will house maintenance, sales, and logistic operations. Henderson Trucking owner John Kaburick and his son Josh, chief operating officer, conducted research before deciding on a 10.2-acre site with highway frontage at the Interstate 64/I-255 interchange in Caseyville.

The new terminal includes a 25,200-square-foot building with office and shop space, secured parking, and remote-viewing access linked to the Salem dispatch center.

Henderson Trucking has also made ongoing efforts to bolster employee satisfaction. The company’s fleet has expanded 78% in the past 20 years and now includes more than 420 power units—primarily newer Freightliners and 550 climate-controlled trailers—to service clients including Anheuser-Busch, Con Agra, Del Monte Foods, Schnucks Markets, Unilever, and Pinnacle Foods.

Josh Kaburick recently informed company drivers—consisting of solo drivers and teams that average 180,000-plus safe miles annually—that the company has ordered more than 180 new Freightliner Cascadias from Truck Centers Inc, and the first 63 trucks are already being put in service.
