NMHG donates pallet jack to NC food bank
NACCO Materials Handling Group (NMHG) has donated an electric pallet jack to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina (FBCENC) in Greenville NC.
The Greenville Branch of the FBCENC uses a critical piece of equipment like a pallet jack to distribute more than 7 million pounds of food annually to agencies such as local rescue missions, food pantries, soup kitchens, and after-school and senior programs in 10 eastern North Carolina counties.
“NACCO has partnered with the Food Bank Greenville in so many ways over the years from financial donations that provide summer meals to children and their families to this recent equipment donation,” said Will Litchfield, chairman of the food bank’s Greenville Branch Regional Council.
NMHG designs, engineers, manufactures, sells, and services a line of lift trucks and aftermarket parts marketed globally primarily under the Hyster and Yale brand names.
The FBCENC is a non-profit organization that has provided food for people at risk of hunger in 34 counties in central and eastern North Carolina for 30 years. It serves a network of more than 800 partner agencies through warehouses in Durham, Greenville, New Bern, Raleigh, the Sandhills (Southern Pines), and Wilmington NC. In fiscal year 2010-2011, the food bank distributed more than 42 million pounds of food and non-food essentials through these agencies.
