The new Stater Bros corporate offices have been officially opened on the former Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino CA. About 1,000 people joined city officials, dignitaries, Stater Bros chairman and chief executive officer Jack H Brown, and other company executives at the dedication recently.

Stater Bros' new 200-acre campus will also include a 2.1 million-square-foot distribution center, reportedly the largest under-one-roof DC in America's supermarket industry. The DC will consist of a refrigerated facility, dry distribution facility, bakery depot, truck maintenance garage, and dispatch returns building. The complex totals 2,295,000 square feet, with space set aside for another 300,000 square feet for future expansion. When it begins shipping product in February 2008, the new DC will replace eight existing Stater Bros DCs in Colton, Redlands, and Mira Loma CA.

The Stater Bros campus will initially employ 2,000 employees and have an annual payroll of more than $165 million.
