Greatwide Logistics Services, a Dallas TX-based provider of third-party logistics services, has donated computers and associated training to charitable organization Dallas LIFE, a non-profit working to meet the needs of homeless people throughout the Dallas metroplex. Greatwide is furnishing 40 computers, keyboards, mice, and monitors, as well as 45 hours of training to Dallas LIFE’s new computer lab, where residents learn computer skills that will help them find employment.

“We are so grateful to Greatwide and so appreciative of everything they’ve done for us,” said Jan Wilbanks, development director, Dallas LIFE. “This generous donation will help us equip our computer lab to help our residents develop the skills to re-enter the job market—or even just e-mail their families to let them know where they are.”

Dallas LIFE’s services include the New Life Program, which offers classes such as anger management, resume preparation, and men’s and women’s issues to support residents in their efforts to rebuild their lives.

“We were excited to find a truly worthy organization that could put these computers to such good use,” said Lloyd Boyd, chief information officer, Greatwide Logistics Services. “Dallas LIFE not only provides food and shelter, but also goes beyond that to give residents the tools they need to improve their circumstances. Our employees offered their time to set up the equipment so Dallas LIFE gets the most benefit possible from our donation.”

Dallas LIFE has provided services for Dallas-area homeless men, women, and children for more than 50 years. For more information, visit www.dallaslife.org.
