FoodLink, the buying platform that connects fresh food retailers and wholesalers to a network of more than 2,000 supplier companies, has announced a long-term agreement with retail grocer Ahold USA Inc.

Under terms of the agreement, FoodLink will become the definitive online buying platform for all fresh produce, meat, seafood, deli, and floral category purchasing across more than 750 stores under the Giant-Carlisle, Giant-Landover, Martin’s, and Stop & Shop brand banners in the United States.

“Ahold has long been an important customer for FoodLink, and this new agreement highlights not just their support of FoodLink, but also the priority Ahold places on sourcing and managing fresh, safe food across a large and complex supply chain,” said Eric Peters, chief executive officer of FoodLink.

FoodLink is a buying platform that connects all participants in the fragmented perishable goods supply chain. The network consists of more than 2,000 retail grocers and their fresh food suppliers, including carriers, third-party brokers, and wholesalers. For more information, visit www.foodlink.net.

Ahold USA supports four regional divisions: Stop & Shop New England, Stop & Shop New York Metro, Giant Landover, and Giant Carlisle. Together they operate more than 750 supermarkets with about 117,000 employees in 14 states and the District of Columbia.
