Dot Foods Inc, the Mt Sterling IL-based food redistributor, provided transportation of equipment and camping supplies for the Boy Scouts of America’s 2010 National Scout Jamboree. Held at Fort A P Hill VA from July 26 through August 4, the event drew approximately 45,000 scouts and leaders.

About half of a Dot truck was loaded with tents, signs, coolers, and other necessary camping equipment July 21 in Quincy IL and arrived July 26 at the military base near Bowling Green VA.

“Dot Foods has transported equipment for the Boy Scouts National Jamboree since 2002, and this donation is a great way for our company to give back to the community and help support thousands of America’s future leaders,” said Dustin Bryan, Dot Foods’ Illinois transportation manager. “This year especially is an important occasion, as it marks the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scout organization, and Dot is proud to be given the opportunity to be a part of it.”

The first Jamboree was held in 1937, and since then 16 others have taken place. Activities taking place during the 10-day celebration include fishing, archery, motocross, trapshooting, CPR training, a 5K run, and traditional campfires. For more information, visit www.bsajamboree.org.
