Houg Special Services of Commerce City CO has implemented TRANSFLO Express truckstop scanning from Pegasus TransTech to speed its daily billing process.
Pegasus TransTech is a provider of truckstop scanning, in-cab scanning, smart-phone scanning, and other document management services that streamline business processes and increase profit.
Houg is a full-service transportation and logistics company. The company’s fleet covers 48 states and specializes in serving the food and beverage industry with refrigerated and dry van equipment.
“We also provide intermodal drayage, pool distribution, short- and long-term warehousing, and we have a full-service brokerage,” said Jenyce Houg, chief executive officer of Houg. She launched the company with her father in 1987, and while both her father and brother are part of the business, she has been the company’s owner since 1991.
TRANSFLO Express is used by Houg’s 100-truck fleet that includes 60 company-owned units. The balance of the fleet consists of owner-operators and contractors that run under their own authority.
“We request that they all use TRANSFLO Express,” said Houg. “It is imperative to get billing out daily. It’s something we absolutely push and require to make sure the drivers send that in.”
Adoption of TRANSFLO Express resulted from Houg’s emphasis on innovative technologies. “I always press our team to learn what’s out there—what will make us better, faster, stronger,” she said.
