VAI (Vormittag Associates Inc) has upgraded its S2K Enterprise for Food Distribution software.

VAI (Vormittag Associates Inc) has upgraded its S2K Enterprise for Food Distribution software. This food enterprise resource planning (ERP) and distribution software lets distributors manage the supply chain and customer relationships more efficiently. S2K for Food Distribution includes:

Streamlined warehouse management system (WMS) functionality—With this application, process picking by case or by pallet label is now available. WMS allows users to not only set up a receiving schedule, but also to pre-process product and distribute pallet labels based on the relevant Ti-Hi.

Efficient unit of work management—S2K for Food allows managers to release employee workload units in waves. This permits supervisors to direct a manageable workload to staff and facilitate efficient inventory picking via “Unit of Work” creation. Once released to the warehouse, managers can assign these units of work to pickers based on inventory location and the vehicle, such as a pallet, used to pick the product.

Fresh-in, fresh-out control—S2K’s on-demand replenishment Date Control parameters direct employees to pick products that have earlier expiration dates, flushing out older products first.

Advanced receiving options—S2K for Food includes a tool to manage and schedule specifically the cargo received, on what date and at what dock, while staff stand by with pre-generated pallet tags, ready to put away the product.

Improved manufacturing capabilities—VAI’s integrated suite of manufacturing applications now comes equipped with enhanced capabilities for creating and scanning labels such as produce carton labels, bar codes, lot number, product weight, and production or product expiration date. With VAI’s intuitive software, manufacturers now have the power to scan each type of label.
