The Hain Celestial Group, a West Chester PA firm, is recalling approximately 983,700 pounds of frozen chicken entrees because they contain peanut products recalled by the Peanut Corporation of America, which is the focus of a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) investigation.

These products are subject to recall:

•10-ounce cartons of Ethnic Gourmet Chicken Pad Thai, UPC code # 18687-70054, lot codes "WC7" and "WC8."

•12-ounce bowls of Trader Ming’s Spicy Kung Pao Chicken, UPC code 0379526, lot codes "WC7M" and "WC8."

The shipping containers bear the establishment number "P-9744" printed on the side of the boxes.

The problem was discovered in response to the widespread recall involving all peanut products produced since 2007 by the Peanut Corporation of America’s Blakely GA facility because they may be linked to a nationwide outbreak of salmonellosis.

Midwest Ice Cream of Belvidere IL is voluntarily recalling 56-ounce cartons of Giant Eagle Monkey Business ice cream printed with a date of July 31, 2009 or earlier (printed as MM/DD/YY) and a Universal Product Code (UPC) of 3003403281. This recall is in addition to the previously announced recall of ice cream products produced for retailers by Midwest Ice Cream. The affected product contains peanut ingredients supplied by Peanut Corporation of America. Neither Midwest Ice Cream nor Giant Eagle has received any reports of illnesses related to the product.

This recall involves approximately 7,600 units of the 56-ounce cartons of Giant Eagle Monkey Business ice cream distributed in Maryland, western Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia through retail outlets.

Included are cartons of Giant Eagle Monkey Business ice cream printed with a date of July 31, 2009, or earlier (printed as MM/DD/YY) and a Universal Product Code (UPC) of 030034032814. Consumers can find the date and UPC code on the end of the package. Those with questions can contact Midwest Ice Cream at 1-877-234-0022.
