New Century Transportation Inc (NCT), whose services include temperature-controlled capabilities for regional and national shippers, has acquired New Jersey-based P&P Transport Inc.

A 20-year old operation, P&P uses a hybrid less-than-truckload/truckload business model to transport freight, which complements New Century's Load-to-Deliver freight system. The purchase represents New Century's third acquisition in the past four years and creates an organization that will be one of the largest carriers in its core Northeast markets.

Founded in July 2000, New Century has grown into a business with a fleet of more than 1,000 tractors through internal fleet development and strategic acquisitions. It is now one of the top 100 carriers in the United States.
