Kraft Foods Global Inc. has announced three winners in the third annual Kraft Transportation Service Provider Recognition Program: Prime Inc. in the National Carrier category, and Stevens and Tri Hi Transportation in the Regional Carrier category. Criteria for the awards include partnership, responsiveness, innovation, and flexibility.

Based in Springfield MO, Prime was a strong strategic partner in 2007, with the capability and flexibility to handle surges in volume, providing Kraft with the ability to meet customer expectations during peak periods, according to Mike Cole, director of logistics operations planning for Kraft in North America.

Stevens, headquartered in Dallas TX, is one of the key carriers in the Kraft transportation network and a past winner in the National category. Part of Stevens’ resources have been assigned exclusively to Kraft as a dedicated fleet. "The on-time rate for this fleet is near 99%, an amazing achievement considering that they are often asked to do emergency loads and service lanes other carriers are unwilling to do," said Cole.

Tri Hi Transportation, a family-owned business in Merrill WI, began hauling for Kraft by transporting Tombstone pizzas beginning in 1986. The carrier continues to haul Kraft’s frozen pizzas, offering service and ideas that mutually benefit both companies, said Cole.
