Railex USA, a refrigerated distribution and logistics platform, announced that it has shipped more than 100,000 truckloads eastbound from California and Washington. The milestone represents the number of long-haul equivalent truckloads that have been taken off the road since 2006.
The platform has two departures weekly from each of its Delano CA and Wallula WA facilities to its Rotterdam NY facility. With each of these coast-to-coast trips, Railex does its part for the environment by helping to lower fuel consumption, moderate greenhouse gas emissions, and reduce pollution. To date, Railex has:
•Reduced fuel consumption by 43,470,670 gallons compared with over-the-road trucks
•Reduced carbon output by 857,897 versus over-the-road trucks
•Saved 275,655,301 long-haul freight miles
As an approved SmartWay Transport Partner, Railex is committed to providing green power and helping supply chains reduce their carbon footprint.
Railex uses a hybrid of short-haul trucks, consolidated/deconsolidated centers, and expedited rail systems. It offers a five-day, coast-to-coast rail transit platform shipping product from the West Coast to New York 52 weeks a year.
