Performance Food Group (PFG) has entered into an information technology (IT) support arrangement with HCL Technologies Ltd. This partnership will help mitigate data center risk for the company’s critical business systems, reduce certain costs, and allow PFG to accelerate IT projects to meet its business priorities.

As part of the transition, 28 IT professionals will be retained by PFG and 27 additional professionals will be offered positions with HCL to work on PFG projects. A total of 47 IT positions within PFG will be eliminated; the company will offer outplacement services and severance packages for these employees. The transition is expected to take several months. No other job losses are expected in other functional areas due to this support arrangement.

PFG will still employ more than 500 workers in the Richmond VA area and 10,000 nationwide.

Performance Food Group Company is the parent company of foodservice distributors Performance Foodservice, Vistar, and PFG Customized Distribution.
