After extensive analysis and driver testing of the leading EOBR (electronic on-board recorder) and mobile communication systems, Springfield MO-based Trailiner Corporation has selected Rand McNally’s TND 760 mobile fleet management system for its 250 trucks.
Trailiner, which has operated in the 48 contiguous states for more than 30 years, hauls commodities ranging from produce and grocery staples to pharmaceutical and retail goods.
Trailiner, which had an existing mobile communication and fleet management system, was searching for a next-generation replacement. According to the company’s president, Amber Edmondson, Trailiner evaluated new systems with a focus on service, driver acceptance, ease of installation, integration with Strategy Software (Trailiner’s TMS partner), and the ability to address future EOBR needs.
“Rand McNally is one of the most trusted names in transportation, and has assembled a team of industry veterans who provided a professional, yet personal touch during our evaluation process,” said Edmondson who also serves as a member of Women in Trucking. “Rand McNally’s team was able to meet all of our requirements, and our drivers are very excited about using the IntelliRoute TND navigation on the in-cab device. In fact, many of our drivers were already familiar with Rand McNally’s GPS products, having personally purchased those devices.”
Besides ease of use, the ability to scale for future features was important. For instance, Trailiner will be implementing a customer access feature to view loads in progress using the date from the TND 760 devices in the near future.
